It's Jazz Fest in New Orleans
It’s that time of year: Festival Season in New Orleans. Jazz Fest starts today and is celebrating its 50th year.
We’ve been coming to the festival before we even moved to New Orleans and I love everything about it: the bands (old and new), the Gospel tent, the dads in watermelon shirts, and all of that fun day drinking. The food is so good, too.
A few tips:
Bring a chair if you wanna relax. Or don’t—and just wander around.
Eat the oysters in the Grandstand. They’re just fine!
Go to the bathroom in the Grandstand. It’s air-conditioned and has spray deodorant, SPF, and mints. Don’t forget to tip the attendant.
Get a daiquiri and put your own booze in it!
Get a sno-ball too. And put your booze in that if you feel like it.
Skip the jumpsuit—they’re a nightmare in the port-o-potty.
