A Fun Thing: The Fort Worth Rodeo
Last weekend, we took a quick trip to visit family in Fort Worth. Nate and I ran a half-marathon, and spent the evening with our family…at the rodeo.
We grew up in the Ozarks, and have been to rodeos in the past, but this was a full-blown everything’s-bigger-in-Texas kind of event.
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo takes place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, and is the oldest continually-running livestock show and rodeo in the world; this will be the last year it’s held at the center before moving to the new Dickies Arena in the fall.
There was barrel racing, bareback riding, and a few other events, but OH MY the amazing closet of clothing that was brought out for this. The sequins. The Fringe. The leather. I was there for it all and immediately wish I had a new extra Texas wardrobe.
